Incidents of violence and bullying in today's schools are on the rise. Parents and educators alike agree that lack of respect and the failure to accept responsibility for one's own actions are taking a serious academic, social, and emotional toll on today's students. T.R.U.E. Respect is a companion guide to the Heartwood Ethics & Character Education Curriculum. The goal of the T.R.U.E. Respect Bullying Prevention Kit is to support and enhance anti-bullying programs, policies, and procedures already in place in schools.

Our T.R.U.E. Respect Program:

• Uses quality literature, strategies, and activities to create a culture where "niceness" is the norm.
• Strives to make schools places where enthusiasm, success, and learning far outweigh the occurrence of intimidation, rudeness, fear, and violence.
• Allows students and adults to customize lessons and strategies to help create a sense of ownership in building their own culture of respect.

Lessons:

• Can be as long or short as necessary
• Can be administered individually to small groups, or to entire classes.
• Show how Courage, loyalty, Justice, Respect, Hope, Honesty, and Love can help build a culture of respect that effects our daily lives.
